San Nicola is from Parma as… The Certosa<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is dedicated to San Girolamo but is remembered as the Certosa of<\/strong> Parma<\/strong>. Majestic and historic stands in the countryside that lies to the east of the city. It is remembered because it was chosen as the location for Stendhal’s masterpiece of the same name written in the mid-nineteenth century. The author, with his romantic pen, started from the place and the aristocrats of the time to talk about reactions and revolutions through symbolic language… So let’s not go searching through the pages for familiar streets and places because they have all been transformed from royalty into eternal symbols. The Certosa is now no longer the muse for historical novels but the site of a penitentiary school that houses more than 200 trainees and remains one of the city’s most famous monuments<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
