Feta is mentioned as early as Omero’s Odyssey: in fact, it is said that the first producer was the Cyclops Polifemo and that Ulisse, after blinding him escaped from his cave taking a piece of it with him!
Instead, its name comes from the custom of cutting it into small slices.
