In front of the Basilica of Santa Maria della Steccata in Piazza della Steccata stands a monument dedicated to one of the greatest artists of the Renaissance: Parmigianino.

The work is by the sculptor Giovanni Chierici and depicts Parmigianino standing with a palette in his left hand, whilst the gesture of the painter at work is left to the imagination of the viewer.

The statue is made of Carrara marble.
