The sweetness of our San Nicola PDO Bacon combined with the tingling flavor of turmeric and mustard ..a juxtaposition that gets everyone on the same page!
The 5 Elements:
1 Turmeric bread with black sesame seeds
2 Brown lentils
3 Turmeric powder
5 Mustard sauce
Preparation:
First of all, let’s prepare the lentils: if you use raw lentils you will need to soak them overnight before you can cook them, but if you use canned precooked lentils you can immediately move on to the next step, which is to cook them in a pot for about 45 minutes along with a drizzle of oil and a bay leaf for flavor. Also add a pinch of salt, and if you want to give it a spicier flavor, add a teaspoon of mustard as well.
We cut the turmeric bread with black sesame seeds in half and top the bottom slice with the freshly prepared lentils and a sprinkling of turmeric powder, gently lay our PDO Bacon on top. If you want to achieve an even stronger flavor, pour the mustard over the bacon as well!
At this point we can close the sandwich and savor its special taste.?
