Salted Carnival Chiacchiere with San Nicola PDO Parma Ham!
This year at carnival, “sweet” disguises itself as “salty,” and the salty becomes sweeter and sweeter.
All it takes is a few simple ingredients…
– 125 grams of 00 flour
– one egg
– 2 tablespoons of cold sparkling white wine
– ½ teaspoon of Bicarbonate
– one tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive Oil
– a pinch of Salt and a pinch of Pepper
– a few rosemary leaves for flavoring
Mix all ingredients together to form a smooth, homogeneous dough. Now let the dough for the Savory Carnival Chiacchiere rest for a couple of hours.
After the time has elapsed, roll the dough to a thickness of about 2 mm and cut the sheet into rectangles or lozenges with a central incision.
Fry the salted Carnival Chiacchiere in plenty of peanut oil until golden brown on the surface.
Drain, salt, and serve with sweet Stan Nicola ham.
