The Teatro Due overlooks Lungoparma and serves as the venue for the Parma Theatre Festival. Its management is in the hands of the Teatro Due Foundation, but as early as the 1970s, the Municipality of Parma entrusted it to a group of artists, making it the first Italian theater with a collaboration between public and private management.

The ensemble of actors at Teatro Due is particularly appreciated because, since 1984, they have brought to the stage works by committed authors that are often overlooked by other companies. This choice has become a strength for them, representing one of the few Italian ensembles to operate continuously in a stable theater for decades.
