San Nicola is from Parma like…the Tempietto d’ Arcadia
The ruins of the Tempietto d’Arcadia are located within the Ducal Park in Parma.
It was built already in ruin form in 1769 and inaugurated on the occasion of the wedding of Duke Ferdinand of Bourbon and Maria Amalia of Habsburg-Lorraine.
The Temple is supported by 8 columns in the neoclassical style and has a shallow inner basin that was once possible to fill thanks to a wooden channelization designed by architect Ennemond Alexandre Petitot.
Thanks to the fascinating setting of the Ducal Park in which it finds itself immersed, the Tempietto lends itself to being the perfect backdrop for numerous themed events, such as poetry competitions.
