San Nicola is from Parma as…The Labirinto della Masone

The Labirinto della Masone has become one of the world’s best-known monuments in the city of Parma despite being newly built.

Born from a dream of Franco Maria Ricci, Italian graphic designer and editor. Franco Maria Ricci planted more than 200,000 bamboos of about twenty different species near his home in the 1980s. It grows quickly, does not get sick, is always green and absorbs large amounts of carbon dioxide: these are just some of the special features of this extraordinary plant that the publisher fell in love with. The project also includes buildings adjacent to the labyrinth that house Franco Maria Ricci’s art collection, his publishing house, temporary exhibitions, lectures, concerts, a restaurant and a delicatessen. The dream began to take shape in the 2000s and is now one of the largest labyrinths in Europe.
